For those of you who don't do social media you may be unaware that John Lorriman, BHRC's long time member, sidecar rider, committee member and Recovery van driver has recently passed away

His family have asked us to invite all his friends to the funeral and wake which is to be held on Monday 28th October, 3pm at Gilroes Crematorium, Groby Rd, Leicester. LE3 9QG. The venue for the wake has yet to be determined.

They have said that there is no dress code, they would like folk to wear whatever John would be used to seeing them in.

They would like anyone who is planning to attend on a bike to escort John on his final journey from his son's house by riding behind the sidecar hearse if they can. One of John's previous sidecar outfits will be at the crematorium and if anyone has one of his earlier outfits and they wish to bring it along his family would love to see it and permission has been given to display such outside the building.

The service, which will not be a religious one, will include his friends sharing stories and memories by saying a few words.

Flowers will be from the family only and donations received will be given to the Sue Berg Benevolent Fund.

If you wish to be part of the funeral cortege or speak at the service please contact secretary@bhronline.uk

Welcome to the British Historic Racing Club website

The British Historic Racing Club has organised vintage races for almost 70 years, and full road-ace meetings for over 50 years.

An integral part of the VMCC, BHRC’s foundations are based on those wonderful 1930s 40’s & 50’s race machines, both 2 and 3-wheels, which provide such incredible spectacle and insight into yesteryear for riders and spectators alike. Our commitment will always be to provide competitive events for such machines. Check out the story of those beginnings in the “Our History” section of the website menu.

As the years have passed, so BHR has actively evolved, to encourage wider opportunities for “like-minded folks” to participate.

With our introduction from the 2019 season of pre-1990 “Eighties Sports and "Superbike” Classes, for stock, and street-based specials, BHRC now offers the widest range of race categories covering Pre-1948, 1963, 1973, 1982, and 1990. At the 2023 AGM, a pre-1996 class was agreed.

We invite you to join us on track!

BHRC is all about the opportunity for like-minded folks to have competitive fun “on track, and enjoy the very best paddock atmosphere, and experience the widest array of historic sporting machines!

BHRC: run by enthusiasts, with enthusiasts, for enthusiasts!

Transponder Brackets

Due to the timekeepers having trouble identifying certain machines on track due to some riders having their transponders on their person and not on their machine, transponder brackets must be fitted to all machines for scrutineering and used for the transponder in the race.

A lack of a transponder bracket on a machine is a tech failure.

Marshals Required!

Can you, or anyone you know, help us marshal for the 2024 season?
Please see our marshaling page to find out more. Marshalling with BHR

ALL ENTRANTS ! NOISE TESTING - IMPORTANT ! BE SURE TO NOTE !

It is a longstanding requirement that machines have their Bore and Stroke clearly marked and visible. Not having these clearly marked, and visible to the testers, adds significant wasted time to the overall Noise Testing process , and longer queuing times for everyone.
PLEASE BE SURE TO PRESENT TO NOISE TESTING ONLY WHEN YOUR BORE and STROKE IS CLEARLY MARKED ON YOUR MACHINE. No marking - No Noise Test ... and you will have to come back again when it is !!

BY REQUEST OF OUR NOISE TESTING CREW: A CLEAR STICKER/MARKING STATING STROKE OF YOUR MACHINE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED "UP TOP" , SAY ON YOUR TANK, FRONT PLATE OR FAIRING WHERE IT CAN BE EASILY READ FROM BESIDE YOUR MACHINE ! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THIS ASSISTANCE !
